LifeChoice Donor Services
LifeChoice Donor Services is responsible for the recovery of organs for six northern counties in Connecticut and three counties in west central Massachusetts with a combined population of 2.3 million people. LCDS serves 23 acute care hospitals and two organ transplant hospitals, Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT and Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
First established as a hospital based organ procurement organization in 1971, LifeChoice became independent in 2002 and affiliated with New England Organ Bank to create New England Donor Services in January 2017. Since LifeChoice was founded, thousands of families have donated organs and tissues, saving and improving the lives of many others.
New England Organ Bank
New England Organ Bank coordinates organ donation in all of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. It also serves the eastern counties of Vermont and the southern counties of Connecticut, as well as Bermuda. Within this service area, NEOB works with over 150 hospitals, 12 transplant centers and serves a population of over 11 million people in our region.
Since its founding as the Inter-Hospital Organ Bank in 1968, New England Organ Bank has served thousands of donor families who have generously made the decision to donate.
